Why I choose Beautycounter

I started using Beautycounter in 2019 when I learned that it was safe for Pregnant and Breastfeeding mamas. Safe? I didn’t realize there were things that weren’t safe. Well, I am here to tell you I have learned A LOT in the past few years about the safety of personal care products. I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself an expert, but I would love to share my journey and what I am learning with YOU!
The first thing I recommend for people to do when they want to learn about what is in their personal care products is to download the EWG app. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a nonprofit environmental company that rates products to tell you how clean they are. I love that they break down each ingredient so you know exactly which ingredients are questionable and can read more about them right on the app! I use the app to scan products while I am in the grocery store. The website is full of amazing resources and lists of safe products, but it is not as user-friendly as the app.
Beautycounter, among other brands, is EWG certified which means that they rigorously test their products to ensure they are safe for everyone. Not only are their products vegan and cruelty-free, but they triple-check each batch of product, and they hold their suppliers to ethical practices. I joined Beautycounter as a brand advocate in August of 2021, and have learned SO MUCH through this business. I love representing a brand that focuses on education and advocacy along with providing hard-working and safe products. Beautycounter is unique in the direct sales community in that it advocates for cleaner beauty laws so that everyone can have access to clean beauty. There is an annual trip to Washington D.C. during which brand advocates speak to congresspeople and senators to lobby for safer laws that will protect everyone. Being a brand advocate with Beautycounter is so much more than just working for another direct sales company and I am so thankful that I found Beautycounter back in 2019!
